Experience & Credibility

“I strive for two things in design: simplicity and clarity.
Great design is born of those two things.”
Lindon Leader

Design • Jessica launched in 2012. After graduating with a BA Hons in Graphic Design, I began a very successful career working in-house at some prestigious publishing and design houses. My experience there honed the skills that I still apply to my clients’ projects today.

I now have over 14 years’ experience as a brand designer, working with companies and charities throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and Australia to create beautiful new marketing solutions to design needs.

Clarity & Consistency

“A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

The strength of a company’s brand lies with consistency. Applying a consistent style to everything that a company produces is key to building its brand. This philosophy comes second nature to me as a designer, and it’s this that I apply to my clients’ work.

I have an exceptional ability to get into your customers’ minds, research what they want to see from you, and apply that clearly and consistently to the marketing that ultimately attracts your dream clients.

Bespoke & Personal

“But I find that for myself, without exception, the more I deal with the work as something that is my own, as something that is personal, the more successful it is.”
Marian Bantjes

Everything that I create is bespoke and specially developed for my clients.

There’s nothing worse than going to a networking event to find a similar company with the same logo or business card as you, purchased from an online company – I’ve seen it happen. This doesn’t happen when you commission a design from Design • Jessica; it’s all created just for you! You’ll get an exceptional one-to-one service directly from me, and absolutely nothing is outsourced to other designers. My most popular package, the No.1 Bespoke Branding package, is limited to 10 exclusive packages a year, meaning that I can focus 100% on each of my client’s needs.

Meet Jess

I’ve always loved anything creative. As a little girl, I was either going to be an artist, a princess, or an England hockey player, so if you couldn’t find me on a hockey pitch, I’d probably be out in the garden painting princesses. Luckily there is an industry that loves this, and in 2006, after my degree in Graphic Design, I became a designer for Disney, nickelodeon and PIXAR creating children’s books for an international market.

I spent six glorious years designing in Bath for publishers, greetings card studios and a highly recognised product and stationery company where I learnt to hone my craft and become an expert in all things branded. I knew that brand was where my true skill-set lay. I loved developing the early stages of a new company or product, from the initial nitty-gritty of defining the philosophy and appeal to applying the style across various marketing material. I won licensing awards, design awards, and even had a No.1 Times Best Selling book – it was High School Musical, you might have heard of it?

Fast forward six years of designing for Disney, Transport for London, Marks & Spencer, Caroline Gardner and many more, and it was time for me to go it alone – Design • Jessica was born.

Since then, I have helped many businesses and charities with their branding and marketing, applying my exceptional creative touch to create on-brand designs from my studio. You can see examples on my portfolio pages.

I now live in Central London, with my husband Eoin (un-paid studio-assistant and RAF pilot), along with two cheeky Blue Cross rescue cats Freya and Odin, and my resue hound Emma.

You’ll often see them in my social media posts, doing their favourite pastime, sleeping! You’ll also spot a few military based companies in the portfolio pages. Since marrying my husband, I have specialised in military community-based business owners and charities; I speak the lingo! They come to me for the insider knowledge that I add to their marketing, and I have been privileged to work with The Military Wives Choirs, RAF Brize Norton and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

I am also very proud to have founded of The Milspo Network CIC and host of The InDependent Spouse Podcast. The Network is an online business network for all self-employed UK Armed Forces personnel partners and provides a space to connect, network and support, created by a volunteer team building businesses in this modern military world.

I am so lucky to have worked with some astounding entrepreneurs, charities and companies and thank them so much for making Design Jessica such a success!

‘I had the pleasure of working with Jess when I approached her for help to brand my creative business Ginger rainbow. She has an amazing eye and is just able to get to the core of what you need and what your business is all about.
What she created for me has helped me take my business from small and handmade making sales here and there to polished and professional and supplying organisations with my product. I also have a much better understanding of my brand look and how to maintain that online. I recommend Jess to everyone requiring design and branding support for their business.’
